U12's winning ways

The U12's put in a great effort to beat a good Castleford side.
Both sides were evenly matched as they played set for set for the first 15mins . Batley showed great defensive work as Castleford came on attack and were unlucky to concede a try as Castleford passed the ball down the line to score in the corner .
Castleford again tried the same move down the line and was held up over the line but managed to reach out and touch down.
The fighting spirit of Batley continued into the second half and a great team effort down the field was finished off by a powerful run by Leon Ruan scoring a try in the corner . Batley were now on the front foot and continued to defend strongly forcing errors from Castleford. The forwards pushed down field with some fantastic runs Keiran Knusdsen got a good break but unfortunately stepped into touch. Alex Kenworthy effort was outstanding , running onto the ball and bursting through the oppositions defence . This led to another opportunity and Leon Ruan took it and powered through to score his second of the day . The try was converted by Jonah Parsons and the score was 10 all with 3 minutes left to play. Batley continued to put on the pressure with a win in site . A smart scoot from Kyle Tomlinson down the touch line sealed the final points for Batley and the game was theirs .
Top effort from all the Team and a well deserved victory
