Narrow loss in a hard fought game

The u12's put in a strong performance only narrowly losing out to good Kippax team. Kippax took the lead after a strong run that broke through Batley's defense . Leon Ruan finished off a good set busting through the Kippax line to score Batleys first try.
With a team of only 13 players and no subs Batley showed grit as they went down to 11 players as Leon Ruan and Alex kenworthy spent some time on the sideline with injuries.
Kippax used their danger man to do alot of the work and score two more tries however intelligent play from Batley soon dropped Oliver Tomlinson off a great ball and he used his speed and step to score a try in the corner.
In defense William Meehan put in some top tackles to stop the Kippax attack and Jack Smith pushed continuously forward gaining plenty of yards to help set the team up with good position down field . Good play from Tommy Roberts as hooker and wingers harry Brown and Joseph wisher helped move the ball around the field. Leon Ruan came back on the field and was able to finish off a Kippax defense by taking on the line and scoring his second try.
Batley were picking up momentum and were showing lots of skills as a team ,working hard for each other . From the Kippax kick off Jonah Parsons caught the ball down field his speed and step saw off the Kippax defense as he ran in a full length try.
Kippax placed a good kick into the corner to pick up their final try and winning the game on the kicks to goal.
A top performance from a gutsy Batley team who short in numbers put in one of their best performances this season so far and were unfortunate no to come away with the win
