Batley boys travelled to Townville Tigers knowing a victory would mean they finished top of the league with an unbeaten record.
Batley started brightly as Townville struggled to get out of their own half with Joe Hyland, Harry Brearey and Jarrad Kirk dominating in defence. As Batley attacked the line play-makers James Smith, Luke Slack, Kyle Render and Liam Rush probed before a trademark burst from Kyle Foley opened the scoring. Dylan Hodgson and Brad McCann were introduced and piled the pressure on which eventually told as Josh Scrutton finished off a good move to leave Batley 8-0 up at half time.
The second half began with no let up from Batley as Townville struggled to cope with the pace and power of Batley in defence and the slick handling in attack. It was not long before Jack Broadbent jinked through to score his fifteenth try of the season, and with Paul Scott and Josh Ward superb in the second row Townville were on the ropes. There was time for one more try as Kyle Foley completed his double leaving Batley with a comfortable 18 - 0 victory.
