A fantastic cup game played at high pace that never stopped from start to finish.
A well organised Dewsbury team ran amok in the first half putting Batley under pressure in their own half for much of the game with most of the play going through Number 7 Charlie Heaton who won opposition man of the match for a performance that was more suited to a player beyond his years.
Fair play to Batley who came out in the second half and gave it all they had resulting in more attacking rugby and with a bit more luck a few more tries to show for their efforts but Dewsburys defence stood firm only allowing 1 try from a strong run by Magic Moment winner Cole Innes who also converted to give the scoreline more respect.
Most Improved went to Will Stoner and Bader Hussain for strong performances backed up by Levi Charlton who won Man of the Match and Top Tackler, Lucas Tomlinson, Max Clark, Shane Gaunt, Harrison Headley, Joe Scott, Joe Goodall, Leon Heeley(broken finger), Matty Blackshaw, Tom Rhodes and Jake Farrell all put in strong determined displays to take into the second part of the double header against Dewsbury in the League this weekend
