Josh will take charge of the First Team in the NCL Division 3.

The Club are delighted to announce the appointment of our new head coach Josh Riding.

Josh (to the right of the photo) spoke to us about the appointment of which he is very enthusiastic about. “I am very excited to be joining Batley Boys for the 2022 season and beyond. After speaking to Danny and the committee over the last few weeks, I am over the moon to be part of the project they are building here and will be doing all I can to keep the club moving forward both on and off the field.”

Josh also holds some international experience with an assistant coaching role with Scotland U20s and works at Wakefield Trinity within the Academy & Scholarship setup “I have served a long apprenticeship within the scholarship & academy systems at Wakefield Trinity and feel now is the perfect time for me to step up and make my mark as a head coach.”

Josh added “The club is certainly going places and I am glad to be playing a small part in that. We have a good group of players already at the club and I cannot wait to get pre season off and running.”

Vice Chairman Andy Winner is pleased to have Josh on board at the Boys “Its great that Josh is on the same page as the club going forward so he’s a perfect fit for us. Having a young enthusiastic coach on board with new ideas is important for not only our senior players but bringing through the youth players & future generations of the open age”

Club Captain Ryan Crossley (pictured in the middle) met up with Josh and was excitited with what our new head coach had in store adding “I’m Looking forward to the new up & coming season after meeting Josh for the first time last night, we had a good chat through his plans and ideas which sound very promising. Now is the time to build and start moving forward together”
