U13's move to top of the league

Batley U13s seal win against unbeaten Kippax team
- mark parsons
The U13's took on an unbeaten kippax team on Saturday . A great start saw Batley score on the first play but it was soon matched by a strong run from the Kippax big lose forward who evened up the game . The kippax lose fwd was the man fronting most of the kippax work and it was soon apparent he was the big unit Batley had to stop .The ground was solid and players were feeling the affects of the hard hits, several picking up injuries . Strong runs from our fwds helped us set up Smart plays to the centre Will Meehan and full back Dawson Birkett which saw them take on the edges, out runnnig them and busting through to score a brace of tries each. A smart interception saw Oliver Tomlinson run the length of the field to score and added a second try later in the game . Jonah Parsons trademark dummy and go saw him run in two more tries and the win was sealed . Goals kicked by Jonah Parsons and Oliver Tomlinson . An overall great performance from the team Samuel Knight picked up the coaches man of the match after taking a nasty elbow to the throat then getting back on the field and putting in a massive effort and gaining plenty of yards . An awesome effort and great team performance pushed Batley to the top of the league .
