Batley boys got off to another slow start at home to Milford Marlins, allowing them to score first in a very evenly matched game where Batley's 100% success rate for conversions, proved costly for Milford.
Spectators and coaches "Man of the Match", Stan Kilburn got the scoreboard ticking for the home side with an excellent try. Cameron Taylor scored next after strong running from Ross McManus, Ben Aldridge and Alex Hirst. Strong tackling from Charlie Wilson and "most improved" Spencer Page helped keep Milford in their own half, with Callum West putting his body on the line to scoop the "Man of Steel" award.
Josh Ottewell dictated play at hooker to help Freddie Crann,Alexander Squire and Sam Preston to make valuable yards. Opposition "Man of
the Match", and players player Kieran Rush's awareness saw him sneak his 2nd try of the game for Lewis Farren to convert from wide, under extreme pressure, to seal the game.
